Guided tour of Wirikuta desert with locals

Description

The first day, around 9 am we will meet in one of the cafes in Real de Catorce, from there we are going to walk to Holy Mountain El Quemado and talk about the importance of this sacred land. At the same time, you will see a magnificent view of the desert. Around 1:00 pm we are going to return to Real de Catorce to eat and visit the "Casa de Moneda" where there is a great photography exposition of Wixarika people. At 6:30 pm we are going to descent in jeep or willy to the community of Santa Cruz de Carretas. We will take dinner and a special lodging in a little but comfortable adobe houses. Finally, take part of a sacred ceremony and meet the Grandfather Fire. The second day starts with a fresh and delicious breakfast. Around 10:00 am, go to the desert at a community’s place. Discover the surrounding with the locals and learn all about life in the desert. Around 2:00 pm, share a lunch with the locals. And at 6:00 pm, go back to Santa Cruz de Carretas, where we can have another conversation with the grandfather fire if you want. After this, enjoy a delicious dinner. On the third day, you can optionally have a breakfast with us or if you like you can go up again to Real de Catorce, there are the option to take the willy at 8:00 am.
